About

My name is Victoria Schieppe and I run a 501 (c)(3) charity in the Pocono Mountains of Pennsylvania called Kindred Spirits Animal Rescue and Sanctuary.

Our mission is simple – to rescue dogs from suffering, cruelty, abandonment and neglect. Over the past 7  years, I have been blessed to rescue more than 100 dogs from high-kill shelters and other terrible circumstances on the east coast, many times driving hundreds of miles to meet other volunteers dedicated to saving and improving the lives of these wonderful animals who want nothing more than a loving home and a chance at life.

In my professional life, I work as a nurse practitioner, and a very large portion of the money I make goes toward my rescue organization. All dogs are lovingly cared for in private  homes in a nurturing, compassionate environment until the perfect home is found for each and every one. I’ve had so many success stories over the years, and knowing I’ve had the opportunity to improve the lives of these wonderful creatures by placing them in loving homes brings me tremendous joy and personal fulfillment.

Still, there are far too many dogs who continue to suffer. According to the Humane Society of the United States, 1.5 million shelter animals are euthanized each year, including 670,000 dogs. Senior dogs are at a particularly high risk. Instead of being lovingly cared for they are simply discarded, unwanted and unloved.

To provide sanctuary for this population, Kindred Spirits is planning to expand to offer specialized services to these deserving animals.

Specifically, we would like to care for dogs whose health problems are so complex and expensive that they would not be able to receive the kind of care they need at animal shelters. Our goal for the future are for our senior population to provide medical care and the comforts of a home environment that they deserve as they approach the end of their lives.

Of course, our new endeavor will be costly, and Kindred Spirits operates solely on a donation basis. I humbly ask you today for your support of this worthy cause so that we can improve the lives of all animals, particularly those who have suffered so much and still want nothing more than to give their love to their human families and be loved in return.

Big or small, any donation you can provide to us can do a world of good for these wonderful, deserving animals.

Thank you so much for your time.
